Great location! Love the decor color choices in the lobby too! Beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows too! Staff was super at check in and check out. Breakfast was spot on, even had a "Strong Coffee" option for my husband. If you want to park and fly this would be the right place to stay. We will definitely be back.

The room seemed fine initially though definitely cheap quality. The shower wall was not properly wiped down. The most unacceptable part was when I went to check out the included breakfast, there were cockroaches running around on the breakfast counter. One of which was inside the plastic container housing the bread and bagels. I would have reported it to the staff immediately but there was no one around, not even when I checked out moments later. So gross! I filed a complaint so they should be made aware now.

New paint in halls and rooms, replace the furniture and put a decent size television in the room. The lighting in the room was horrible. The maintenance in the hotel was not good. The furniture was old. The heater made noise in my room all night long every 10 minutes . It looks like the paint hadn't been done in the hotel for maybe 15 years. It was a an old green blue. The only redeeming feature about this hotel was that the staff was nice and it's close to the airport. I would have rather paid twice the amount then stay at this hotel again.

Hotel seemed dark musty and empty with a large convention happening across the street. First room they gave me smelled of weed and was dark and freezing. Everything is clearly old. No carpet on the floors. Worse than a motel 6. Second room they gave me was a bigger “suit”. This room was even colder and heater wasn’t working. It was 8degrees outside room wasn’t much warmer. I ended up going to a different hotel. I have to say the service was very nice and they were understanding and gave me a refund minus my first night.

Oh boy. I initially blocked off rooms at the hotel that was previously located in this space for my wedding in September. About a month before the wedding, we found out that the hotel had closed permanently and the Clarion had taken its place at this location. We were not notified by the previous hotel chain, which I understand but we were also not notified by the new ownership. I personally think, as a new hotel in the area, you’d want to contact those with reservations and inform them of the change and confirm you still have the reservations but maybe that’s really complex, I don’t know. So whatever. We were told multiple different things but eventually did find out that they allegedly still had our reservations on file. This was mostly true but we did have a few people who were missing their reservations. When we had people call to book again in the block, they were told they would not be charged the guaranteed rate but, instead, would be charged a higher rate. I spoke with a manager and was told they would be charged the guaranteed rate but wouldn’t be booked in the block because the deadline had passed. These were people who booked before the deadline and their reservation got lost. Many of us were also told we would be sent a confirmation email and then never received one at all. On the actual wedding weekend, while I personally did not have any issues with our room, many of our other guests did. Including but not limited to - finding a used condom in the room, mold, and generally unclean spaces. The one with mold was a family friend who has young kids. They informed the hotel and they sent someone to clean it and told them to go back to the room - refusing to get them a different room. When they decided to stay somewhere else, they were informed that the hotel would not be refunding them. Another guest also did not receive a refund when she saw that the room was not clean and wanted to change hotels. They had dropped their stuff off and left for a wedding event and didn’t realize the room was dirty until they came back. They were informed since it had been more than 15 minutes since they checked in, they would not be refunded. We had yet another guest who was promised the guaranteed block rate and ended up being charged more. And yet another guest who said the AC in their room did not work. Multiple guests ended up leaving this hotel and staying elsewhere and none of the rooms were together for the block. Honestly. Don’t book with them. Edit to add: I was just informed that the “new” ownership is actually the same ownership under a new company. So there is actually no excuse for them not honoring our reservations or honoring the previous rate. DO NOT book with this hotel.

If I could leave no stars I would staff was very rude beyond rude! Not only did they charge unexpected fees they gave my sister who was babysitting my children dirty rooms filled with hairs and a tub tht wasn’t cleaned. After switching the rooms it was still not up to par but all tht aside guests services called me at 12am asking why my sister had not checked in mind you that gave me instant worry . Only for the customer service rep to not know what they’re talking about. My sister had checked in long time ago and walked past requested cups and plates for the food they ordered. How do you not know who’s in your hotel? Then when I have requested a refund the guest service in the morning Was very rude. Talk to me like I was incompetent and question me I do not recommend for anybody stay clear of this hotel. The worst experience EVER

The place has really turned around the rooms are always nice and clean. The staff are very polite and willing to help and be at service at all times. The hotell has reasonable prices and worth every penny. I would recommend this place to all. very nice!

Stayed here as part of a park/sleep/fly plan, before and after my trip. Everything was fine, the drop off/pick up at the airport was great. Left my car in their parking lot with no problems. The staff was very accommodating, helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I fly out of Des Moines.
