Courtyard Rochester East/Penfield

Great location, easy access to airport, freeway, Costco. Staff was great, helpful. Balcony view from third floor was gorgeous. Easy side entrance and exit, but walk from front desk was long for elderly mom, I should have mapped route then drive to side door for her. Only other less than stellar was initial condition of room, wasn’t quite up to our normal Marriott standard, the thought actually crossed our mind that the room hadn’t been prepared anew for us. Eventually we were satisfied we weren’t in someone’s used room, but the floor and microwave could have done with a better check and the sheets could have been more tight and pillow fluffed. Minor non-issues that caught our notice and gave us pause but eventually we were satisfied. And ultimately we really enjoyed our stay there and would stay again.

I recently stayed at Courtyard Marriott in Rochester for a total of 43 days, expecting Marriott’s high standards, but the experience was a total letdown. As a loyal Hyatt member for over 15 years, I chose Marriott due to limited Hyatt locations in the area; however, I won’t be staying at this property again. • Room 510: Stayed here for two weeks with minimal housekeeping. They only vacuumed and replaced towels, ignoring basic cleaning like the bathroom. • Room 518: After a maintenance issue in 510, I was moved to 518. This room had faulty plumbing, and when I opened the curtains, I discovered a fly infestation with 50-60 flies. • Room 503: Initially seemed okay but quickly revealed more maintenance issues than the previous rooms. Throughout my stay, the night-shift front desk staff was inattentive and unhelpful, often disregarding guest needs. Promises to fix issues were ignored, and housekeeping was consistently subpar. The overall hotel experience was chaotic and disappointing—far from what I expect from Marriott Bonvoy.

Staff is great, but this is a very disappointing Courtyard. Seems like it was built out of an old Super8 or Holiday Inn. There are drain flies in the room, which means they are neglecting basic sanitation. The bathroom counter had dried soap on it so it had not been cleaned properly. The walls are apparently hollow and I was kept awake by a coughing child all night long. (Bummer for the kid) The bathroom is incredibly cramped and badly designed. Loudest toilet in the universe. Finally, the worst part. After waiting for the cafe to open, I asked at the desk 15 minutes after opening, and was told that someone called in so it’s closed. I went out for coffee and when I came back there were urns of coffee out. Thanks for telling me folks. And then when my wife woke up and I went down for coffee for her, it was all cleared up and no more coffee. Wow. I’m Gold Elite and have stayed at 20 or 30 Courtyards, and I may have now found the worst one!

I had a great experience with a one night stay at this hotel. The rooms are large and the staff were all very friendly. There was a minor problem with the room, the assistant manager came up himself to fix it. Fantastic service! Plenty of parking and convenient highway access. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great hospitality!

We recently stayed at the hotel while visiting family nearby. Everything was great. We had two rooms so our kids really liked that. The pool was a hit and so was the breakfast. The staff were friendly and attentive. A lot of good days, happy holidays and general well wishing. If only the weather was nicer but I know that’s not part of the deal haha. As we will be back, we don’t have to worry about where to stay. Thanks to the staff for a nice visit.

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean and they were able to accommodate an early check in for our family. Staff was extremely friendly and super helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
