★★★★Booked this on a whim for a one-night anniversary stay. The village is beautiful, with gorgeous old homes. Not a lot to do in the village itself, but Cincinnati is just 15 min or so down the highway. We enjoyed our night just strolling through the area--we had arrived in time to get a sandwich at the Bluebird Bakery (very good) and visit the village museum (interesting to see the village in a then-and-now context). The Glendalia is a storefront with apartments above, so the "rooms" are actually suites with kitchen, living & bedrooms. They are furnished beautifully with original paintings and some real antiques. I understand that the downstairs is used for cooking classes, which were not scheduled when we stayed, but the facilities looked amazing. We did attend an open house for the new managers, and the presentation was impressive. Breakfast was pre-made and left in the fridge: homemade cinnamon raisin pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit, and it was nice to enjoy it in our own room. Now the drawbacks: All rooms are upstairs, which means a long flight of stairs to reach them. The working train tracks are very close & trains run through the night (I slept right through, but they woke my husband). Because the building is old, the room I originally booked was having issues with the heat, but we were given another room that was also very nice. This was a wonderful find for a special occasion.

★★★★★My wife and I were wanting to find a small out of the way getaway for our anniversary weekend. I found The Glendalia on line and liked the look and reviews. We were not disappointed. The room was amazing. It was more like an apartment than a room. Full living room, kitchen and dinning room area and a very large bedroom. Very clean. The owner checked on us each day to see how we were doing. Also gave us good suggestions of where to eat and what to visit. We will be going back. The town of Glendale was also very nice. Great Pub with good food.

★★★★★I live locally but was having long time friends in town. This was the perfect location for us all to stay together!! We stayed in the two bedroom suite. It was extremely spacious. There was plenty of room for sleeping. The living room provided a great place for us to have evening and late night talks. The kitchen allowed us to have snacks while chatting about the day. Beds were made, room was cleaned and linens were replenished daily. The whole experience was delightful!!! The manager, Amanda, was very helpful and answered all my questions throughout the weekend. The continental breakfast was actually provided by the local bakery and was much more delicious and plentiful than I expected. On Sunday when the bakery was closed, we were provided with bagels, granola bars, and a wide variety of fruit. My friends and I had a wonderful time and I am planning to go back with my husband sometime soon.

NillI took a class with a friend and absolutely loved it! It is a beautiful space and would be a great outing with a group of friends. It has a nice atmosphere and I enjoyed the casual style of working together as a group to prepare the dishes. The food was fantastic, much better than I expected and I cannot wait to try it out on my own. We took a tour of the hotel after the class and it is beautiful. A great place to recommend to visitors looking for someplace quaint, spacious and with all of the comforts of home.

★★★★My wife and I were supposed to stay in Room #1 with a King Bed, but the refrigerator was not working so we stayed in Room #6 with two bedrooms. The room/apartment was spacious and would be a great size for a family. We were not bothered by the trains as they only woke us up once in 2 nights. The television was small and only in the living room. The bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable for both of us. Breakfast at The Bluebird Cafe was delicious. We would consider staying again if we could have a more comfortable bed.

NillWonderful place, close to Cincinnati. Spent an evening there to celebrate our anniversary. Maybe. Melissa--the owner--was wonderful. Very helpful, responded to questions right away. There room was very nice. The only one available was a large suite, had a bedroom with a queen and another with two twins. Had a kitchen and very nice living room. She also provided a nice breakfast since the local bakery (where the included breakfast is provided) is closed on Sundays. Overall a wonderful B&B, we will definitely go back.

★★★★First, the good news. Our original reservations had to be changed within four days of the stay due to a death in the family and they graciously allowed us to do so. The management is very gracious, no doubt about that. The Procter suite was very clean and had a very classic charm. There was an electric fireplace and on a damp fall night, that was a lovely touch. Also, the breakfast at the Bluebird Bakery was quite good. There were complimentary juice and water in the fridge and a full-size coffee maker with plenty of coffee and tea choices. In addition, they gave us a bag each of savory and sweet Italian snacks. ||As I said, we rescheduled our stay and asked specifically for a King bed. I called four days prior to confirm the reservation. When we got there, the King suite wasn't available. We wanted a walk in shower which is one of the reasons why we booked the King suite This bathroom had a bathtub with no grab bars and a mediocre shower. ||The bed was a bit too high for me and it was difficult to get in and out. There was no nightstand on one side. If you wear glasses, you know how disconcerting it is to not have your glasses near you, especially in a strange place. ||I gave the Glendalia four out of five. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives. If you don't mind climbing stairs, can ignore trains (which is clearly mentioned on their website) and don't have your heart set on a particular room, then we would recommend this place. However, if you need accessibility, you may want to book elsewhere.

NillThe service was lovely. The price was super reasonable for everything that was included and the quaint setting. Chain hotels don't even deserve comparison. The Glendalia far exceeds. I'm here for a work trip and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, delicious food (both here and at the Cock 'n Bull pub), and accommodations. I love the sound of trains so it was nice hearing them pass through. I would stay here again if given the chance to come back to the area for work..... Or even a future romantic getaway.
