Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland East/Mayfield Village

I was expecting the worst after reading reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean and comfortable. The Bad: Weigh room. Don't plan on getting any exercise and you will be fine. Ice machines, none seemed to work. Walls were thin and we could hear the conversations of our neighbors. The Good: Front desk staff were courteous, room was clean, heat worked, bed was comfortable and towels were fluffy. The Great: Shower was high pressure and got (almost too) hot IMMEDIATLY. What a treat. The tiny freezer in the mini fridge re-froze our ice pack.

Friendly front office staff. But the staff cannot overcome the lack of maintenance at the facility. Both of our rooms had toilets that did not work. There is no maintenance person onsite. Our air conditioner has visible mold. The public restrooms were not clean. I would not stay here - there is a Holiday Inn right next door that looks much better.

Disappointed!!!!!!!! The hotel is well maintained and clean, but we had a few issues. As a Hilton member we stay at these properties and pay a little extra because we get some additional things like free breakfast (For this hotel they charged) Cookie on arrival (My kid was disappointed) Free beverages (again just disappointed (the water in the room is always a convenience) The staff was nice, but we did not feel valued as a Hilton Member. Bar was closed the entire weekend, and no food was offered. Additionally in the pool area the water was very cold, and the Hot Tub was closed. (Again, disappointed if we had known we would have booked a hotel with a working hot tub) I will not book at this property again I will book at the hotel across the street that is cheaper or another Hilton property further from the rinks we play at!

This hotel was not great. Very outdated. The furniture was very old and the TV looked like it belonged in an RV. The pillows were a joke, it felt like we weren't even sleeping on any and the mattresses were doing the taco thing, where you roll into the middle. The bathroom light fixtures were rusted. And paint peeling from the ceiling. Honestly the room was terrible and that wasn't even the worst of our stay. We paid extra in our room rate for free breakfast. When my husband and kids went down to eat, I stayed in the room to shower. I popped down and noticed a credit slip and asked my husband why he paid when our breakfast was included. We then found out we needed to get a voucher from the hotel main desk. No where in any emails from our upcoming stay did it mention we needed to get a voucher. Okay, fine, we get the voucher and then I had to ask the guy who claims to be a "server" to refund us and he was extremely rude. Talking on his ear buds and facetime the whole time he was working, while we're trying to interact with him. They even had a sign for the breakfast costs, if you didnt pay extra in your nightly stay, and it made zero mention of needing to get a voucher. The front desk seemed confused on how many people could use the voucher meanwhile the "server" seemed annoyed I asked for a refund. We stayed one night and not one more. Don't waste you're money and splurge on another hotel close by, even if it is $50 more. You won't regret it.

Overall the stay was OK. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was mostly clean and comfortable. However, the rooms need some updating. The chairs had dust on them like they just came out of storage, the dresser and the cabinet that held the microwave and mini-fridge were visibly aged and were starting to fall apart. The "Fitness Room" wasn't. Only 1 of the 3 treadmills was working. The Dumbells had been removed and there was a cable machine that has seen better days. The space was cramped. This was just an OK experience. It was close to where I needed to go while I was in town so it worked for a couple days. I will probably find accommodations elsewhere next time I am in town.

Disappointed. Mother had a procedure at Cleveland Clinic she is an Honors member and chose this hotel. Upon arriving at 4:30 pm front desk told us our room wasn’t ready? Was informed that there was no water from 9am-6pm the next day? We thought they would have told us this before checking in? Had to wait in lobby. Room was on first floor down hall. The smell! Water was dripping from above into a large trash can. Water was dripping at a constant flow. Would have thought that they wouldn’t have put guests in this floor? Will not ever stay at a Hilton Garden in again! This was a second bad stay.

This place is falling apart! Room smelled like mildo. Shower was full of water by the time I was done because of drain problem. There were crackes in the ceiling of room and paint bubbling. Furniture was trashed and one drawer wouldn't even close. Bathroom had all kinds of problems everything covered in rust. All this for a prime priced room. DO NOT STAY HERE!

They must have remodeled since I was there 3 years ago. The lobby, rooms, and dining area have all been refreshed, and our stay was excellent. The people at the front desk and in the restaurant could not have been nicer or more helpful.
