NillI want to share candid feedback in the hopes that it is received constructively. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had — and that’s saying a lot. I’m a retired military officer with 21 years of service and currently a commercial airline pilot. I've traveled extensively across the U.S. and internationally, staying in hundreds of hotels over the years — from budget options to luxury brands. This property, sadly, ranks among the bottom. The overall condition of the hotel does not reflect the standards I associate with the Hilton name. It felt far more like a neglected roadside motel than a trusted brand-name property. Specifically: Cleanliness: The room was not clean. Paint was chipping, surfaces were worn, and the overall appearance was dated and unkempt. Lighting: The harsh blue-tinged LED lighting throughout the room created an uninviting, sterile atmosphere. Odor: The entire fifth floor smelled strongly of urine. Service: The front desk staff were not particularly helpful or welcoming. Amenities: There was no hot water available during my stay. While I understand that maintenance issues happen, I was never informed of the problem at check-in — which I found inconsiderate. I strongly encourage Hilton to conduct a site visit and evaluate whether this property is meeting brand standards. I truly hope to see improvements made for the sake of future guests.

NillThis place is falling apart. Dirty everywhere. Carpet stains. Wallpaper falling off. No hot water. Parking deck and stairways are filthy. Windows to the lake? Yeah, except you can't see out of them because of how dirty they are. Would not return.

NillI never do reviews but this is needed. This hotel is very old. The carpet is dirty, and the rooms are outdated. The lighting is low so it gives off a creepy vibe. Also, the elevators don't work! Not to mention paying $30 for parking. The only good thing about this hotel is the shuttle option. I would not recommend this hotel.

NillIt is an inexpensive hotel, but also threadbare and generally run down. They have a breakfast that they charge for, but that many hotels give away for free - $25 all you can eat reheated bacon, box eggs, and pastries that taste like the plastic enclosure they are stored in. The free cookie at check in was nice though. The garage elevators were broken, the garage stairs smelled like pot and urine. There were empty alcohol bottles on the ground. It seems that they've given up on cleaning rooms except for between guests. Which is actually fine with me. The location was great, but also oddly loud. It seems that people race the roads near the hotel, so each night we were there, we were awoken regularly by loud engine sounds well into the early morning. I don't think I will be returning. I guess I got what I paid for.

NillI’ve stayed at a variety of Hilton family properties across the country. I expect a Doubletree to be simple, no frills, yet clean. This may have been the first time I immediately checked out of a hotel after arriving. The parking lot was crumbly and smelled awful (urine?) and the elevators were out of order (forcing you into the nasty stairwells). The whole of the hotel smelled dank and the atmosphere was sad and dark. The room looked like it hadn’t been updated in decades besides a newer tv - the tub was stained, the faucet handle spun all the way around, and you didn’t want to walk around barefoot. The Hilton down the street provided a night and day comparison. The Doubletree was obviously less expensive, but in my opinion shouldn’t be acceptable for any Hilton brand property.

NillYou're not close to much within 20 minutes walking distance, however, the shuttle is free and will take you anywhere you want to go and bring you back. The hotel rooms are dated and need attention. There's carpeting that looks 3 decades beyond serviceable condition. The front desk staff does not do a good job of keeping thugs out of the lobby. One guy was talking loudly, harassing patrons and hitting on women in an objectifying way. Probably not going to be a do over.

NillWonderful staff (the only thing good I can say about the hotel.) Over priced parking garage; $30 each day, also the elevator in the garage does not currently work. Way over priced breakfast; $25 for a subpar "Continental style" breakfast. Rooms and decor could really use an upgrade. The table in our room was very wobbly and I did not trust it enough to set much on it. Sadly, I will not be able to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cleveland area.

NillI wouldn’t recommend this place if it was the last hotel open for one hundred miles, just keep driving until you find another one more suitable! The majority of the facilities were outdated, not maintained or broken. Our room was very unsanitary, and I couldn’t tell if they were hotel employees or gangsters standing just out front consuming and partaking in some sort of illegal substances right where guests were walking into the hotel and some with small children! I myself had my daughters there for a dance competition going on down the street and fortunately was only there for one night and just made it work but other dance parents checked in and seen the conditions of their rooms and checked right out and went elsewhere that same night. I would also like to mention that it sits next to an airport and a railroad track and you would think that when constructed they would have done a better job of sound proofing the building but I could hear the trains all night as they would pass. Absolutely would not recommend this place!
