Econo Lodge Galveston Seawall

Positive: Location was busy and was told a few times to be safe, so I question the location at night, great view of the gulf. Negative: Was pretty run down and not kept up very well, bad coffee and Little Debbie snacks for breakfast. We returned from eating and turned on the lights, roaches ran off the TV counter. Checking out they took off $30 for the bugs, we didn't sleep well!

Clean, functional rooms with an AAAmazing view. Close to goid restaurants, bars, shops. I've stayed here on several visits and the staff is outstanding. Mariel on the day shift is professional and knowledgeable. The nightmare patrols parking lot frequently so I felt very safe as a single lady. And Patsy on the afternoon shift was so helpful in so many ways a d spent time telling me about the Island. Shes a Professional and great staff member here. I highly recommend to retired folks, families, young couples. It's all about Galveston and people here A+ Special thanks to housekeeper for a great job on rooms

This place is FANTASTIC! I had an issue and the owner himself went above and beyond to fix it. The room was extremely clean. The sheets were pristine white, no stains, and clean! The bathroom was immaculate and the people were extremely friendly. I had so many other issues with hotels I was pleased to find this little gem. It is a little outdated but if you are like me you just want a clean, comfortable place to lay your head in between adventures. This will be the only place I stay in Galveston from here on out. Their customer service skills are impeccable and this day in age, that is everything.

I stayed here with my best friend and her parents about 10 years ago and as soon as we pulled into the parking lot I knew I wanted to go back home. We walked in and the lights in the room barely worked, and I almost slipped because the floor was covered in some mysterious greasy substance. We requested for the room to be mopped but the substance was still there when we got back and we had been gone for 10 hours. The closest and the “dining” area were basically the same room so we had to eat our nuggets in the closet….in the dark. It also smelled like moth balls and the room got moist at night. Anyways I see that the rooms have been updated since then and I hope that they handled that greasy floor situation too. Overall it wasn’t too bad, I would suggest bringing a mop and bucket and some Lysol If you plan on staying here.

If you think of what a fleabag Motel would be. This is it. They get away with this garbage location because of the view and the beach access. We had exposed wires instead of a smoke detector, the shower was crumbling and so moldy and there were bugs flying around. We didn't get any washcloths and no shampoo but we did have a random tiny little conditioner that had already been used. We also got price gouged because it was the day before a cruise. The worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

It is right across from the seawall. The furniture in the room is updated. The room itself, not so much. However, we are pleased for using it to stay overnight when getting on a cruise tomorrow morning.

Awful experience with plumbing! Our room had issues with flushing on same day we checked in. We asked front desk for another room, which they gladly granted. However that room had the same issues with plumbing. The only fortunate thing is we are here for only one night. I would avoid this one!

The location was amazing! The rooms were clean but definitely needs to be remodeled. The walls were filthy. Everything was rusty, including the refrigerator and chairs. The pictures online are very old. The hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures. There was no hot water. I would not recommend this hotel especially if you have children.
