Stayed there 2 nights recently. Fine hotel BUT… I left some expensive medicine in the room while packing. The medicine was CLEARLY marked with my name, address and phone number. I noticed it was missing after driving an hour or so and called the manager identifying myself (same one who checked me in and out where I complimented the hotel). He immediately told me that there was nothing in the room and had been cleaned and was already rented out! Funny this was about noon and the policy states no check in before 3. I feel the maid could not have cleaned the room already and been occupied by a new tenant. The same thing happened about 4 years ago at another hotel and the manager claimed there was nothing left. I ALWAYS pick up the room, put trash in baskets and wrap all the towels in one of the used ones as a courtesy to service people. My question is “are ALL hotel service people THIEVES”?!?!?!?!?

To expensive for what it is. I paid $185 for 1 night in February. No breakfast included. Front desk was friendly but the hvac in the room was not working, I let them know and they fixed it, then it broke again so then they came and put a new unit in while we were in the room. I thought before It got to that point they would have offered us a different room. The room was fine as far as cleanliness. I would consider staying here again if it was not so expensive.

What a great visit!! The resident Manager was so very kind, helpful, & patient. The room was nice, with microwave, refrigerator & coffeemaker. Location was perfect -- a very close walk to the beach, just one short block away so traffic sounds from Seawall Blvd. were not an issue. This truly is a pet friendly hotel, & the price was right. This will be my first choice whenever I visit Galveston!

I absolutely loved this hotel. The room was very clean and spacious, really huge. We booked a King room with ocean view. View wasn’t the greatest ever, but you could see the water, just not the sea wall or beach. | The location was excellent. There were so many restaurants and shops close by. We had hoped to stay longer but we had a medical emergency with a family member back home, so we only got to enjoy one night. I loved Galveston so much and will absolutely come back and stay here again. Dog friendly, which was great, and blissfully quiet in the room so we slept awesome. Mattress was good and firm! Shower water pressure was excellent. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not have time to use the pool but it looked clean and inviting and the ice machine was great.| Only weird thing is we had no couch in room, like all the pictures. There was room for one but it was missing. Room 201. No big deal, but it’s nice to sit somewhere besides on the bed to drink coffee and watch tv.

Front desk attendant was very nice. Room had small roaches and the fan in the bathroom didn't work very well. The drain in the shower did not work at all so we had to stand in water. The bathroom sink didn't allow us to change the water temp or pressure. The room was clean though... The people who do laundry need to do just a tad better. When we arrived I immediately checked the bed for bed bugs, and all the sheets and blankets felt wet like they didn't dry completely. Then house keeping came the next day (which was upsetting because they don't give you the option to put a do not disturb sign on your door which bothered me because I dont like people being around or touching my things while I'm not there) and they changed all the bedding and it was wet when we arrived back later that night. Also, the door had a giant gap on the top and bottom. The location is great though! Close to the seawall and restaurants/stores. And the AC got the room cold quick.

Room was disgusting to say the least. I thought it was bad enough seeing two DEAD roaches, but seeing two live ones? Unacceptable and gross! The bathroom looked like there was mold and the tub would not plug to be able to take a bath. The air did not seem to cool the room very well either. It also is very loud there, we got woken up after 7am to some guy talking loudly and cursing. When telling the front desk person, I was told he would tell the manager and they would give us an “acceptable” refund for the roaches. So we shall see. Overall, I would not recommend this place at all to anyone! No one should have to worry about live roaches in their hotel room. EDIT: a week later, no refund of any sort was given, nor have we been contacted about any type of refund. Seems like a generic response below from the company. Save your money and avoid the Red Roach Inn.

Spent the weekend to celebrate my birthday on the Seawall. We really enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious with a window facing the beach. Loved that they were pet friendly so that our 11lb baby girl could enjoy the getaway as well. Location was very convenient. Allowed for us to walk to beach and to dinner.

from 1 to 10 I would give this place about a five on the cleanliness scale. The man at the front counter was very friendly. Even though it is a cheaper hotel, I expect more for what I paid. With taxes and everything it was $180. My wife and I stayed in a room on the top floor with two queen size beds. There was a bug on the ceiling when we walked in, which is not a big issue, but the fact that there was about a 1 inch gap under the door was a big issue. anything could have crawled in there. The water pressure was close to zero. My biggest issue was at the vent fan in the bathroom did not work. Honestly, I would not recommend.
