Sugar's Inn

I stayed in room #3 at Sugar's Inn. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The place was super clean and decorated beautifully. The bed was super comfortable. The owner is very friendly. There is no elevator to get to the 2nd foor. The owner happened to be there putting a table together and carried all of our bags upstairs for us. Downstairs is a very good, quaint restaurant. The location is great. If you are taking a cruise out of Galveston, then this is an ideal location for that AND it's ideal for walking to shopping and restaurants. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Loved it!!

Seriously, why is this place not booked solid for months! Easy check-in and check-out. Clean room (we stayed in #3), great bed and fabulous shower. We came to Galveston to coordinate an event for one of our clients, and after a long, humid filled day, we simply walked downstairs and ended the day with Daniel making us the best cocktails. Thank you!

Horrible booking experience. We didn’t get any confirmation… About a week prior to when we were supposed to check in, I realize this and reached out to the number that was on their website. This was on last Saturday. I finally heard back today on a Tuesday. In the meantime, we had booked another hotel. I told her that that we would try to cancel that other hotel and instead she says, okay, I just canceled you guys. When I told her there’s been a misunderstanding…I’m trying to cancel the other hotel she says oops sorry I misunderstood and that was it no offer to rebook us. Then she said the number I am contacting her on isn’t the inn number so That’s why it took so long to hear from them then I showed her a screenshot from her website showing that it was the same number. Anyway, they seem to be a hot mess and I’m glad it’s canceled.

Great bed, staff. I would stay again. Only small problem which was my fault is the stairs with my walker. Then again I misunderstood the address as booking.com has a slightly different address. This would not have been a problem if I'd read the emails better.

We stayed in Room #6 and it was a great stay! The rooms are comfortable, clean, very nice, and very reasonably priced! We’ve stayed at the sister properties (Emily’s on the Island across the street and The Oleander a few blocks away). Each have their pros and cons. My only complaint about Sugar’s Inn, being upstairs from Sugar & Rye, is that it’s a bit noisy. You can hear the music and noise from downstairs. For us, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em, so we closed down the bar before heading back upstairs. In the regard, Sugar & Rye restaurant is fabulous, which is a pro for staying here. They provided us with ice and even kept our left overs in their fridge overnight, since the room didn’t have one (the other properties have refrigerators). Brian and Emily are super friendly and even provided extra towels ahead of time on request.

We loved staying here. Modern and trendy, beautifully decorated, clean rooms and comfortable bed. This place is fantastic. Owners are great with communication as well. 5 minute walk to the strand but there’s several good bars and restaurants a block over. It’s located right above Sugar and Rye which is a great restaurant with a good vibe. Can’t say enough good things about this place . My wife is picky and a hotel snob and this is her new favorite place in Galveston. We will definitely be staying here again. Thanks for a great stay.

My husband and I stayed in #4 and let me tell you that we fell in love with Galveston and the property. We booked, literally last minute, and had the best experience. Very clean and very well put together! The only downside was that they did not have hand soap, we asked but never received it :( , but I wouldn’t count this against them. Definitely coming back! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your property

Perfect location for enjoying downtown Galveston. Easy check in and off street parking a plus. Bed very comfortable and nice shower. Enjoyed Sugar And Rye restaurant and bar.
