We picked this place because it's not too far from the beach or Moody Gardens. It's a 2 star hotel in Galveston so we didn't expect much but we should have read the reviews. As soon as you walk in you're welcomed with a punch to the face with the stinch of mildew and a pending construction eye sore. At no time when I booked our room was I informed with any kind of notification of construction work due to natural disaster. I figured we're not sleeping in the lobby so the room should be fine, nope. Don't stay here if you value your health. We woke up with blood shot eyes and swollen sinuses. We live in SW Houston, about an hour drive away from Galveston. It's not due to location acclimation, it's the mold and mildew. We felt better once outside of the hotel but anytime spent in the place was met with instant sinus troubles. I figured maybe they had busted pipes due to the winter storm in January. Nope, it's from hurricane beryl?! That was more than a half a year ago, why are you renting rooms at $200/night? This place should be closed for repairs until further notice per health concern! I feel bad for the employees having to work in these conditions. The constant spiders on the bed were no fun. I check mattresses for bed bugs and didn't see those but can't say that I was happy with the other disgusting stains found on and around the old uncomfortable spring mattresses. There are things such as matters protectors so that people don't sleep on a mattresses collecting dust mites, bodily fluids and whatever else is soaked in those mattresses. You don't get a comforter just two sheets but you won't need one since the ac hardly works and sounds like a helicopter ready to take off. Oh yeah the ac also let's off a nasty musty smell. The parking is horrible, the place says it's 75% booked but the parking lot is 100% full. Plan on bringing your truck and leave your sedan at home, you'll probably need to park in the field next to the property and cross your fingers that you don't get towed for trespassing. This was supposed to be our Valentine's/holiday weekend vacation. We cut our stay short and left a day early to go home and recoup before having to return to work. We had our 2 yr old with us, the whole time she wanted to go home and I felt the same way. On the plus side, I did unexpectedly receive a one night refund due to the situation. I almost never leave reviews but I felt people needed to know that this place needs to be avoided. Wish I took pictures but I didn't expect to leave a review.

Hotel was very dirty. Like they didn't sweep or clean the rooms at all. Toilets wouldn't flush properly. Also air conditioning didn't work. Walls were so thin that I heard the room next to me talk and yell till 2 in the morning and then again at 6 in the morning. The main bathroom for downstairs was disgusting. Didn't ever have toilet paper(saturday before we left in cruise and then again on the next Saturday we came back.) The parking is a nightmare. Barely any parking in the lot. Has a grass area next to it for you to park as well. It was raining and I didn't want my car to get stuck in the mud. The shuttle to and from the cruise port sucked. It took about 2 hours to get picked up at the port when we got back. Kept saying that they were almost there and it took much longer than said. Others had problems trying to get the shuttle back to the hotel. Next time we will be staying at different hotel.

I'm hoping this is not a trend since I've stayed here many times since September. This morning at 6:15 The milk is sour, I have a cold but could still tell. Two other people at breakfast said it was sour. The waffle mix had issues, not sure what the issue is, yes I do! The ladies next to me said the sour milk was used to make the waffle mix. Decided to have yogurt, it's out of date. February 7, 2025 ugh. Overall I'm happy with end room, and the clerks but tune free breakfast will make you sick. Not sure how many people are working, appears it's one person is doing the work (at least he's trying) of many. Please, please don't let this be a trend.

Although the staff was quite friendly, the hotel itself is in desperate need of a deep clean and remodel. Our room was gross: Stuff on the floor, lots of hair in the bathtub, and a roach ran across the bathroom counter when I picked up my makeup bag, it was hiding underneath. I’m sorry to say we won’t be back.

Refrigerator missing the rack inside the door. No towel holder or toilet paper holder in bathroom. Lobby was damaged in hurricane months ago and still wasn't fixed. Wood pile with nails in parking lot. Ran out of eggs one morning. Next morning there weren't any eggs or sausages. Cream cheese, but no bagels. Peanut butter for toast would have been nice.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. This is the single most filthy hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The front desk lady was FANTASTIC, but we had to go through FOUR different room before we settled on a room that had only “one” cockroach. First room had 2 cockroaches. Second had bugs in the toilet (looked like maggots), smelled like a litter box, and it was clear the room hadn’t been cleaned. Toilet seat was up, and there was diarrhea splatter on it. Third room had cigarette butts in the toilet and then when flushed, it almost overflowed and wouldn’t go down. Fourth room, had a huge dead cockroach on the bathroom floor. At that point, I picked up the cockroach and flushed it. There was no discount and I’m quite sure I’m going to have to fight to get my money back. We’re traveling with our 3 kids and that had absolutely put a disgusting damper on things so far, as we are currently at the hotel. This place is disgusting.

Staff were nice but other than that this place needs to be condemned. Went through 4 rooms before we decided to say no thanks and leave. Issues include but are not limited to: Door would not lock, pee or some liquid on floor, blood on wall, rusty tub drain (10 inch diameter), head impression and hair on pillows, generally dirty rooms. Lobby had damage from recent storm which is legit but was gross and smelled like a musty basement. Walked down road to way better motel for nearly same price.

Great stay nice rooms however if you are going to utilize the cruise parking their parking lot is too small and everyone has to park in a grassy field behind the hotel. Never saw any security so not sure how safe.
