OYO Hotel Houston Galleria West

Listen to what everyone else has said about this hotel, it is terrible. My room had a bedside light that didn’t work, 4/6 bathroom vanity fixture lightbulbs were missing with open sockets, the security latch on the door had been removed. The best part, the smoke detector was just a hole in the ceiling. When I spoke to the front desk about these issues they refused a refund and told me it’s not their fault there is no smoke detector in the room guests take them down and they couldn’t possibly replace them all. This place is a death trap, it deserves 0 out of 5.

Worst hotel experience in my life no doubt about that. Upon entering to check in, we were greeted by a maybe 10 year old kid. He attempted to check us in but couldn't so he brought the next person who could and was a bit rude. Upon entering, the room was unbelievably hot. The room had a very old feeling to it. The sheets had small blood stains so we took it upon ourselves to go get new sheets because come on who the hell wants to sleep in that. The mattress underneath was worse. The room took a good 6 hours to cool to decent temperature. I never felt safe during my stay. Absolutely no one was around. Our key ended up not working the second nights stay and I'm glad we took our belongings every time we left. When checking out, the kid who first helped us was knocked out in the lobby which does not exist because its an actual living space. We knocked pretty loud trying to check out for a good 10 minutes until finally. If this wasn't sketchy enough, this place called me back trying to get me to stay an extra two days. There is no clean blue pool, there is no breakfast, no laundry matt, and no wifi. The photos shown are a lie. Anyone commenting positively about this place are either a bot or getting paid to post something positive. Spend that extra buck for somewhere safe.

This hotel is outstanding, from the cleanliness, rooms and location. It's a3 star hotel but to me it should be a 5 star. The beds are so comfortable with a pillow menu. The housekeeping work very hard to keep the hotel clean. It’s so elegant; the beautiful courtyard to eat breakfast is lovely with so much choice for everyone. A special mention to staff at breakfast for his sense of humor and looking after us

DO NOT COME. Empty. Sketchy. Not Safe. We checked in at 11pm with plans to leave before checkout at 11am. Someone repeatedly came trying to open our door at 5 am. Naturally, we packed our things to leave. (Note: we were the only ones checked in at the hotel, and had just gotten there a few hours ago.) When we went to the front to get our deposit back and checkout, they said we were supposed to check out the day before. They acted like they knew that someone came to our door, but said "it wasn't them" and that they don't have maids at the moment. Then, they said that, even though we were the only ones there, we were in an area where there weren't any cameras. Why would they put us in a blind spot if we were the only ones there? We had to ask repeatedly for our deposit back after they said they suddenly dont have any cash or record of us. It seems like a great place to stay if you want to be up all night or experience financial fraud. Also, I don't know why people were leaving reviews about the breakfast. We asked for plastic utensils earlier in the night and they didn't have any, so they probably don't have food either. Either that, or they were afraid of what we would do with a butter knife as the only residents there.

Horrible the outside looks deserted and creepy and so is the small check in booth when u walk in. The rooms are worse with lots of holes in the walls and ceiling the sheets we're dirty and so wash the room. I got out of there so fast and requested my deposit back how dare they require one in advance for potential damages but the room already has damages when u walk in? That's a joke!! Don't go here. They lucky I had to select one star for it to post my review this place doesn't deserve any stars.

Stayed here for 3 nights. This hotel is close to everything. Lots of good restaurants and bars. The room was small but there are lots of communal sitting areas. Lovely bathroom. Would highly recommend. Why does trip advisor insist on over 200 words for a review. This hotel is great I want to share that. I don't need to write an essay. .

SCAM! Warning! They demands $100 cash only deposit, and for a reason, they'll try to keep it in the end. We checked out, they went to check the room, and came back complaining about two disgusting stains and claimed it's from the left over soup I was holding. I'm fairly offended they thought I'd eat in that room, it's disgusting inside. We argued for a good 15 mins by which point I asked his name (the owner would not give me his first or last name) I said I was calling the cops and needed to know his name for the small claims court. His demeanor immediately changed and he began to negotiate "how much of the deposit do you want back" I said "the full amount". After getting in the owners face (literally) and getting almost physical he gave back the $100. Do not go here your $50/ night room will go to $150/ night

The front desk staff was a little girl , her dad eventually came out to the front and took my deposit without giving me a receipt until I demanded he write one up. No blankets. Room is old , dusty and outdated, swimming pool is empty and dirty, homeless people sleep on the hallway, this place is like a scary movie hotel. the key to my door didn’t work sometimes, I checked out early and didn’t get refund , am glad my bank helped me out with that, front desk never answer the phone,I am shocked the department of health hasn’t noticed this creepy place. this place is a scam and Texas government need to shut this place down. Not sure why they still in business.
