The Edgewater Hotel

Positive: Great location, staff was super friendly and helpful, amenities were as expected for 4.5 star hotel. Ice skating was a great perk with kids. Hotel brunch was DELICIOUS. Room was super clean and very spacious for a family of 4. Negative: A little disappointed with being a 4.5 Star hotel - the lobby smelled like fried food from the upstairs restaurant - happened on all 3 days. A signature scent would give the hotel an elevated experience when walking in.

We did the pillow talk Valentines special. So nice to come to our room with chocolates, prosecco, and luxury king size pillows to take home. Massage and spa very nice and not too crowded. I would do this again. - It would have been helpful to have the front desk mention the layout of the two buildings and the tunnel. We got lost quite a few times. Eventually we got it. Very relaxing during a snowy cold weekend.

Loved my stay and booked through Expedia received a complimentary late checkout and coupon for spa. Delicious food and convenient market in building. Beautiful view and close to downtown square. Staff were very kind and helpful. Thank you Edgewater for a wonderful Valentine’s weekend.

My husband and I just got home after a weekend getaway at The Edgewater. On the whole, this was a lovely experience. Our second floor room with a fantastic view of the lake was terrific, the bed was very comfortable, and the large bathroom felt quite luxurious. Our only gripe with the hotel is the lack of signage to help you figure out where you are going or how to get there. Getting from our room to The Boathouse was a comedy of errors, and although we followed the sparse signage to get through the tunnel, the last important direction was nowhere to be found. That meant we had to walk outside (freezing weather, no coats) to get to the door of the restaurant. Signage and directions in general are lacking - we were unable to get out of the garage after leaving our room this morning because nowhere did we see instructions to keep our room key card so that we could get out. We had to back out of the exit lane, park again, and then I had to go back inside and get to the front desk to find out that we were supposed to hang onto our card and that there was a convenient drop-off location where we could leave our card after exiting the garage. Of course there was no such location, at least not one that was easy to find. Overall, a great stay but a definite need for better signs directing guests!

The Edgewater in Madison offers a luxurious stay with stunning views of Lake Mendota. This AAA Four-Diamond-rated hotel has spacious, well-appointed rooms with modern amenities and comfortable beds. I highly recommend the Executive King with Lake View room. The hotel's prime location in downtown Madison provides easy access to local attractions while maintaining a serene retreat-like atmosphere. I experienced excellent service, with staff consistently going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay-- from airport pickup to check-in to room service to housekeeping. The Statehouse Restaurant serves an excellent dinner with good wine selections. The Edgewater provides a four-star experience that reflects the essence of Madison's charm and hospitality.

I was looking forward to my stay at Edgewater Hotel Madison. My river view suite was clean. The view was pretty. The bed was comfy. Those were the highlights. The food was well, worse than "bar food". The room service although ordered was never delivered. When inquiring I was informed "Yeah I don't know I don't usually work down here." The housekeeping staff was generously tipped each day but when asked for toiletries on my third day none were provided. I could not recommend The Edgewater Hotel to anyone who likes fine things.

My wife and I came here for our 2nd anniversary. I want to stress that overall it was a decent experience. The view was nice and the staff were friendly. However, the parking was a nightmare and very confusing. If you stay here, check in first and then go park. You have two options when parking, pay 4 dollars per hour or scan your room key and pay 28 dollars for the whole night. When checking out, get your vehicle first with your key and then check out. The room was clean, although I will mention that our room had a broken screen door and the screen itself was broken as well making having the door open a poor choice considering the insect company. We ate at the statehouse and the food was good. The price was fair and the atmosphere was elegant. We had a nice view of the lake. One bit of a bother was that in order to go to the pool we had to walk outside across the grounds. Overall it was a nice stay but I do not believe we will be coming back.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Hotel. We felt so welcomed and cared for from the minute we walked in. Toni made sure we knew how to get to our room and made mention of some fun local things to do, she was such a delight that added to our overall unforgettable night at The Edgewater! Thank you to all! We will be back..and often.
