NillI can not say enough about this hotel. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by friendly and caring staff to the beautiful rooms that were stocked with all the amenities needed. We definitely will be back.

★★★★We stayed here for a night with our dog. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. We had a shower and a large juccuzi. We only used a shower, which was warm and had good pressure. Room had some signs of deferred maintenance. For example, the carpet needed to be stretched. The staff was super friendly. The parking was the public parking lot and it was free the night we were there. There were quite a few restaurants within walking distance and parks that were close by.

NillWe had our wedding reception here and it was PERFECT!!! Emily, the event coordinator, was so friendly and so easy to work with. She was a literal dream! I work in the tourism industry and know how much work goes into events and she and her team nailed every part of it! They were organized, punctual, and kept us all on target even in the middle of a busy wedding day. She was great with our vendors, helped answer questions, give us recommendations, and was super willing to adjust to fit our needs on literally anything we wanted. The space and rooms were clean and comfortable, all the hotel staff were super friendly and we are so thankful we chose to have our reception with them! I would recommend this space to everyone! I can’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else it made our day so easy and stress-free. They’re the literal best!!!

NillDisappointed in what constitutes a view of Rib Mountain according to this hotel. I was assured room 407 had that view, for my visiting elderly parents, but it's a miniscule sliver and only from an exact corner of the window. I was assured of this in writing a week before by an unknown employee, and by the front desk the day of, by a young female employee (since snow clouds obscured the western horizon that afternoon) when I settled them in. Once clear morning came, my folks said it was barely visible, which I verified. I complained to the desk during breakfast the following day (a gray haired woman with an accent), and was still told the room actually had a view. She actually Insisted specifically 407 had a mountain view and said, 'we have to agree to disagree then'. I told her she was gaslighting me and insinuating we were crazy. Earlier, I was told on check-in that the hotel was actually not full and only king suites with even inferior street views were available (when I called from the room about a switch on the cloudy check-in day, assured it was just the clouds) and that I would have to pay more for a view. It can't be both ways--simultaneously being told 'yes you have a mountain view' yet 'you need to upgrade'. Inspite of the generic apology the following morning, it was quite dissapointing. It really would have been best to just be straight with me from the get go. Combined with the cold, expensive breakfast at 8 a.m., (I joined them as a guest for $12 as theirs were free via Expedia) reminiscent of a Comfort Inn, the spa jets not working in the pool facility, and the 'back & forth' silly parking scenario, I would recommend to stay elsewhere. Why not just go to Mint Diner around the corner for breakfast? Why would I be made to feel cheap, and let my parents stay here again? It's easy enough to get around Wausau by car and there are several competitors. For the record it was a 4th floor KING SUITE on Wed, Feb. 12th for $161. Prices went up to nearly $300 for a room on this same day. Imagine that. UPDATE Feb 27th: After two weeks of phone tag, I spoke with the inept General Manager, Zach Oxley, per his suggestion. Culver's would have done me better. His solution was that I give them another try & book directly through them in the hope that I might get some vague discount. That was tentative on his attendance and memory and the front desk's willingness to involve the Manager in a reservation. Why would I pay them more money for this rigamarol? We all know the hotels themselves inherently charge more at the desk than the online third party travel agent which we already get discounts through. He said that lacking a view was not enough of a reason to oblige any of my four suggestions (coupon code, refund, partial refund, complimentary stay), which is oblivious because guests, in general, rent rooms (king suite) specifically for a good view, moreso when they're elderly. The cherry on top was the cold, overblown breakfast, and inoperative spa jets in the pool room. The breakfast warranted a 'hm' from the manager. Does he not understand that guests generate income for downtown businesses? My folks might have made a habit of this hotel. It's really tiresome hearing another canned response from management itself. It's also tiresome hearing that 'since you booked through a third party'... As if this is some odd behavior. You seem to take my money, easy enough, through a 3rd party. Good marketing, through compensation, as the result of a mistake, is worth more to the hotel than paying incompetent employees who are ignorant to the shape of the building to the point they'd rather gaslight you, while a vacant (weekday) room obstructs the view. He could have changed our minds, and I would have left a positive update here, but instead he doubled down and treated me as a survey result. Once upon a time hotels would offer a couple of drinks at the bar if they messed up, since they wanted you to leave speaking highly of them, but no. Btw, this hotel pads their reviews with fake accounts. GO ELSEWHERE--Plenty of choices.

★★★★★Positive: Really liked the location and the decor. Negative: The continental breakfast was supposed to be at 7AM on Sunday. Due to problems with the kitchen, it did not open until 7:40 and was not fully stocked. This was disappointing as the area looked great.

NillAttended a 3 day conference there. Nice enough place. Had to ask for decaf coffee. Seriously… I stayed at a nearby VBRO that was half the price of the rooms there. The food served by the Inn was ok. Nothing I would describe as delicious. Standard banquet food. Oh liked the nearby neighborhood restaurants with outdoor seating.
